About Mindy

As Executive Director of the Cold Climate Housing Research Center, I’ve worked alongside realtors, builders, military leaders, nonprofits, and government to create a downtown housing plan that streamlines affordable, energy-efficient development. On the Borough Assembly, I’ve balanced budgets below the tax cap, supported parking and residential deregulation downtown, voted for better non-motorized facilities, funded education, supported public employees and championed the Climate Action Plan. â€‹

I've been a business agent and organizer for a local union, fighting for our local residents' right to earn a livable wage and enjoy a quality of life. I've worked for the Alaska State Legislature and as the first employee of the Interior Gas Utility. Today, I am the Executive Director of the Cold Climate Housing Research Center, a non-profit advancing building techniques for cold climates.

Our community is home to a broad spectrum of voices and our leadership must be determined in their vision and dedicated to the public process. I am engaged in the community, committed to public service, and dedicated to the people of the city.  Local government is the most impactful form of public policy and community development.  I am committed to the positive growth of this community through my active involvement in local government for over 15 years.

I am a passionate and dedicated local leader who will restore respect and progress to City Hall. When we invest in solutions that empower citizens to meet today’s needs and inspire the future, we will feel again the heartbeat of our Golden Heart City. Let’s do this - Fairbanks! I’d be honored to earn your support and your vote on October 7.

It has been my pleasure and honor to serve this community in all these capacities and as a local elected leader.
